Generation to Generation
I recently went to Nootka Primary School in Vancouver to see a wonderful art project the children did with their teacher, Claudie Azoulai. I plan to repeat the process with the children at Stand Tall Training Center in Uganda this summer and then display the work of both schools at our fundraiser in September. The project is entitled From Generation to Genertion; the children were encouraged to include a photo of their family, as well as symbols of their country both past and present, symbols of their interests and hobbies, spoken words from their elders, and their ‘personal coat of arms’. Have a look below at how fantastically successful this multi-layered project was. It will be interesting to compare and contrast the Ugandan version to the Canadian one.
Art Installation Benefits Stand Tall
Thank you to artist/photographer, Jasna Stojanovic, who chose Stand Tall Education as one of the beneficiaries at her gallery opening June 3 at the Pendulum Gallery. The show, entitled Love is a Many Splendoured Thing, sends out a positive and inspiring message of love and co-operation among all people. We felt the Love, Jasna.
